1. Lights, camera, action ... sorry, forget the lights
Place: Runshwa college, Fulwood and Leyland
Description: The story from LEP on 20 Oct 2009, five media major students from Runshwra College have won a regional budding movie competition, and the budding movie moguls are among the Smoke & Mirrors campaign.
Reason: This story is about Runshaw College national diploma media students won a regional competition, which are related to our course I think. Also I’m really intrested in Photography when I became to study Advertising&Photograph in the high school.


2. Preston posties out on strike
Place: Pittman way, Fulwood, on Thursday morning.
Description: More than 650 postal workers go on a national strike at Preston’s mail centre. This nationwide action aimed over pay, working conditions and pensions on Thursday morning in Fulwood.
Reason: My elder sister mailed a package from London to me by the Royal Mail’s next day service on Thursday afternoon, around 4o’clock. As luck would have it, the preston posties out on strike on Thurday morning. However, I surprise that I ‘ve recived my package on Friday morning. Good luck.

3. Student bars bid for late licen
Place: 53 Degrees, Source Bar and The Atrium
Description: Three student union bars ;53 Degrees, Source Bar and The Atrium consider to open until early hours sever day a week.
Reason: 53 Degrees are the largest student union bars of our university, also we took part in the welcome party there which is the first bar we went to since we coming to the UK. So I pay attantion on that.

4. Decision on Football Museum is postponed
Place: Flag Market, Preston
Description: The fate of Prestonls National Football Museum will be thrashed out that keep the attraction in the city or spark outrage and move it to Manchester's Urbis Museum.
Reason: Football are the hot topics in most of the time in the UK. So I choose this story to post. And there are about 166 people added their names and addresses to a petition in Preston's Flag Market where is in the preston's city center, it is quite near. And if we want to learn more things, it should be know what's happened around us first.

Preston City Council

This is Preston City Council, it located on preston city centre. This building is the town hall of the preston, maybe as high as the fourth floor. We've been there to deal with our rubbish recyclling.

Hello, friends, Welcome to my first blogger, this is also my first post on the blogger. My name is Maggie Chen, Chinese. And I am the second year student at University of Central Lancashire, study for Media Management. I always heard blog before such as 163blog, sina blog...although I never used it. But now, I want to have a try. And before I use it, I should know more about blog.

Blog is the abbreviation of the 'web log', it is the fourth network communication after Email, BBS and IM. Easily to say blog is someone's own website, it is a good platform to share information and their mood to friends or strangers. Also something they are interested in, include everything, eg: images, interesting articals, favourite music and popular video. In addition, blog is instant-publishing, it is convenient for blogger publishing and update their posts.

Also blog is Two-way communication system. Bloggers publish their posts and others comment on their posts. I am a photograph fans, and 'MyPoco' is a free blog service for shutterbug. Althought I didn't establish one MyPoco account, but I always browse someone else's MyPoco, and comment on some images which i favourited.

Now I am using the Blogger which is belongs to google, if you have a google account and you have a blogger if you want. So, blogger is free. And after doing some search, there are some other websites offer free blogging service. 'Windows Live Space' ,'Word Press' 'blog163.com',' TypePad', 'Yahoo 360',ect...
